All About Amanda
I received my Masters in Social Work in 2013 from Silberman School of Social Work at CUNY Hunter College. Since then, I have gained licensure in New York State and have elevated to a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. That means that I have put in thousands of practice hours under senior supervision and have met state critria and passed exams to be afforded these credentials. I have also supervised other mental health professionals and graduate level students.
I have years of experience working in a clinical setting with individuals, families and groups. I have participated in numerous clincial studies with the Center Of Addiction https://www.centeronaddiction.org/ which have aided in my clinical abilities. Specific studies were with adolesents with ADHD as well as Family Therapy Techniques.
I have run groups for the LGBTQIA+ community, adolescents with social skill defecits, adolescents with substance abuse disorders, and parent support groups for parents with teens suffering from behavioral and mental health disorders.
My Philosophy
YOU are the driver of change, and I am the navigator. While I am in expert in my field, you are the expert of you. The relationship that exists between a therapist and a client must be a good balance of trust, respect and collaboration. The time you spend in my office is precious and most likely the only space in your week that you are the complete focus. Let’s use that time to invigorate your soul and strengthen your sense of self.
